Arizona law---- that's crazy!

Oh my gosh, I was looking at the new Arizona law and that is crazy! I mean if someone looks Hispanic, they can ask them for papers! My son is 15 months and he looks completely Mexican, are they going to ask him for papers (or ask me for papers?) They are going to ask the wrong person and they are going to end up going to court. It looks like that it would be racial profiling or a form of discrimination. I hope that other states do not follow this ignorant example of how to correct a problem. I understand that they need to do something about their problems, but this is out of the world crazy! This seems so weird that we are now living in a country where you are going to be questioned and put on trial just because of the color of your skin. Wow. Am I over reacting or is this just unrealistic?

  1. for sure your not over reacting. It is crazy and no Arizona is not the only state that has made or plans to make this ok. It ridiculous when the changes need to be made somewhere else.

  2. Amanda agreed it is a mess, and scary! Along many of the other things that are going on in this country! I would not want to be raising hispanic mixed kids that is for sure not here not now! But many states are in process and it is a mess there not another word for immigration in the US. I got in a fight with someone on FB about how she believed that a person should wait and if that means you cant get your husband in the US for 13 years that is ok! ugg people had more rights back in the day, during the depression to be married and in love with a person from another country! It is hard but this law is nuts! And I saw AZ talk about it and then Texas and they said stuff that was so wrong...saying the illegals are the ones causing the crime rate to go up and murders, no they are not that is the cartel there illegally the real illegals are workers just trying to come in to work and make a buck! But we shall see what happens, this is no difference than IDing blacks and mixed kids, and we all know that would be a mess, so there is not a difference here! These Mexicans are not slaves, they have rights too! But I think this law is about when someone does something wrong meaning driving, or gets arrested they can ask for status and for them to prove that they have a visa so the thugs in the gangs mostly! Not too sure going to look into this law!

  3. I stumbled across your blog while reading others who have moved to Mexico. I'm married to a Mexican national and we are planning on moving to Mexico next year with our daughters. Arizona has completely lost its mind! The new laws allow them to stop anybody anywhere and ask for proof of residency regardless of whether you are walking down the street, playing in the park with your children, shopping at the grocery store, etc. It used to be that they could only do that if you were engaged in some type of illegal activity or driving, etc. It's sad and I've lost a lot of friends over this but nobody understands until they are in our shoes.
